Although its working well, having Dayglo Fishermen band members and creative contributors dispersed around the UK is not the ideal way to write and record a new album. And that's why this month Peter and Richard, along with the band's essential featured artist Sean, met up at the Cozmic Studios Facility in Buckinghamshire.
With drive and passion that never seems to fade, the three veteran song writers put down the guitar and bass tracks to the third and fourth songs of the album. The decision to mix several styles on one of the songs was a risky one, but apparently it worked remarkably well making it one of the band's most inspired decisions ever, and one to be applauded. It is such decisions, and such leaps of creativity, that ensures the band retains its unique status in the contemporary music arena.
Rumours from those on the inside suggest that this new album, still years away from release, is going to be Dayglo Fishermen's most remarkable and consistently astounding yet. That's been said of previous albums, of course, but as such rumours turned out to be true back then, there is no reason to believe otherwise now.
Knowledge of such a reliable rumour mill will be a great comfort to the band's loyal army of fans who yet again are going to have to suffer years without the release of new Dayglo Fishermen material. The band's extensive back catalogue of albums will help, too.
Fans should remain calm as their patience will be highly rewarded. It seems like Dayglo Fishermen are well on their way to producing yet another splendid piece of work. |
