Since the album 'Time' was released in 2019, there's been a surge in interest from radio stations eager to play Dayglo Fishermen music. Wycombe Sound got the ball rolling early in 2020 by playing the serenely confident 'Time Out From This World', the perfect choice to showcase the new album. That was soon followed by Red Kite Radio, which chose to play 'Surfing on a Cloud' (click here to hear it).
There seems to be a consensus at the moment that Dayglo Fishermen are an electronic dance band. As stations seem to gravitate towards playing 'Surfing on a Cloud' above all others it seems that that is the kind of music they want. With the band's genre-busting collection of albums they can certainly provide ample quantities of such music if required.
Dayglo Fishermen are not new to radio play, of course. Way back in the early 1990s, when the band was awash with with limitless creativity and ambition, tracks from the album 'And So It Is' were featured on a south coast radio station.
And who could forget the in-depth Gary Richardson interviews, recorded at the band's Artlite Studios facility and broadcast on Hexham Hospital Radio. Click on the links below to hear those interviews:

Those early years were a remarkable and care-free time for the band, evident in the youthful exuberance heard during those interviews. It's astonishing how far the band has come since then, and even more astonishing how they manage to maintain such levels of creativity and passion. |
